Women are still only one in four people seen, heard or read about in traditional news media.

The latest figures from the Global Media Monitoring Project show this represents a rise of just 9% over the past 30 years.

Speaking to GBC staff, the Ministry of Equality’s Policy Development Officer, Marlene Dalli, says the media plays an important role in representing the diversity of the community it represents.
