A musical performance by Ayesha Nadir Ali tracing the mythic evolution of Heer, one of the South Asia's most enduring archetypes of the feminine, followed by a conversation between Ali and Dr. Monica Mody about how shared mythic terrains can reach across borders and reveal pathways of peace. This powerful evening was presented by the M.A./Ph.D. Mythological Studies program and co-presented by Pacifica Extension and International Studies on August 1, 2025, at the Barrett Center, Pacifica Graduate Institute, Ladera campus.
Ayesha Nadir Ali is a researcher, scholar, and proponent of South Asian music from Lahore, Pakistan, whose repertoire spans classical, semi-classical, folk and Sufi music. She has co-authored and edited two books on the families of Ragas with Ustad Parvez Paras.
