The great and loveable Peridot is back with another cover. This time it’s an English version of the Vocaloid song “Kokoronashi” with added dialogue written by yours truly… and Sakura.
“Kokoronashi”, according to Sakura, can mean either “somehow” or “heartless” depending on the kanji. The kanji used means “somehow” but the lyrics imply “heartless” so we titled it with both.

I, the great and loveable Peridot, am back! I’m sorry I’ve been absent for so long, I just needed some time to find myself and what I want to convey with my singing. Of course, I’ll still do some songs just for fun, but I want to start also singing more songs that I feel with my heart and not just hear with my ears. I’ve only done a few songs like that in the past and I want to relate to my covers more.
Today’s song is an English cover of Vocaloid producer Tiara’s “Sayonara,” originally sung by Hatsune Miku. It represents a couple of things for me. On one side of the coin, it represents me moving on from Lapis after she hurt me while still cherishing the good memories I have with her. On the other side of the coin, it also represents saying goodbye, saying “sayonara” to my old self and to the past while still being thankful for my experiences and how they’ve shaped me.
