Been working on this one for quite a while. It's a remix of Heartful Cry from Persona 3: The Answer!
I've been playing a lot on a TTRPG campaign I'm very into (been making plenty of original music for it too), and me and another player have been COOKING this narrative arc for something like a full year. Their character's betrayal, mine's struggle for understanding and ultimately a duel of clashing souls that brings their relationship to a brand new start, laying bare their true selves... good stuff. They WILL love each other so much.
We really wanted Heartful Cry as a BGM for their duel, but since they're both from Japanese-inspired countries we also wanted to use some kind of "traditional Japanese cover". I found none, so I made my own.
Since I was doing my own thing at that point, I've added a couple of twists! Both their character themes ("Crimson Revolution" and "Frozen Time Delusion", which I've composed myself) are present and it culminates in "Hoshi no Arika" from Trails in the Sky, which we also used recurringly in scenes where they started bonding before everything went down.
It was a blast to work on! Hope you enjoy listening to it as much as I did making it.
