So here's the deal, I'm pretty sure this car hates me. Every time I start to make solid progress . . . BAM . . . Screwed by an issue that shouldn't be an issue.
This time I take a closer look at what is going on with the motor mounts and find out that my headers and steering won't cooperate. This one killed my motivation to want to work on this car.
For those that don't know, the car is a 1965 Chevy II Nova Wagon, motor is just a dirty ole 327ci sbc that runs like a bat out of hell. For this car the gearbox is a 700r4 that to my knowledge is a stock transmission, out back is a factory rear end not sure what exactly is inside the rear end, but the ole spin and count method puts the gear ratio around 3.4:1 which makes for a great cruiser combo with a decent dig. The front clip is an older 2nd hand Heidts Mustang II front clip for a Chevy II (and was on a running driving car with a sbc before I got it).
Seeing as it's now May and the weather is getting good I'm dying to get this car back together so I can drive a hotrod and really get to work on the next car, but man the unexpected issues have caused huge setbacks, just have to keep pushing, maybe by June if I'm lucky . . . I wouldn't count on that lucky part!
