Hello From Hawaii | Hawaii's Biggest Newspaper Being Sold. Does Anyone Care? @HelloFromHawaii | Uploaded January 2024 | Updated October 2024, 4 hours ago.
With the news that the Honolulu Star-Advertiser, the largest local newspaper in Hawaii, will be sold, I wanted to share my opinion on the potential sale and offer some suggestions on how to improve the newspaper going forward. As a long-time reader of the Honolulu Advertiser and now Star-Advertiser, I think the newspaper will need to pivot to focus on more digital content, as the way the public consumes news is different. And while this trend in print media has been happeing for a while, this will hit Hawaii particularly hard since we are such an isolated place. I hope that the newspaper continues on, but with changes to the content.
