The Spectator | Have the police lost control? – Matthew Goodwin & Rory Geoghegan | SpectatorTV @SpectatorTV | Uploaded August 2024 | Updated October 2024, 4 hours ago.
Another knife-related attack occurred yesterday in Leicester Square, where an 11-year old girl was stabbed eight times in London. This is one of 27 attacks in just 16 days and comes just after the Southport knife attack where three young girls were murdered provoking violent riots across the country. Has the commentary following these riots spent too long focussing on immigration instead of tackling knife crime? And how has the police allowed Britain to become so unsafe? To discuss this The Spectator's Natasha Feroze is joined by academic Matt Goodwin who writes the Matt Goodwin Substack. And Rory Geoghegan, Founder of the Public Safety Foundation and former Special Adviser.
