Some clips from late morning March 1st, 2022
15 feet high on Shelter Island, looking out of San Diego Bay.

A couple of these segments are sped up 2x recorded speed, but even in real time, the horizon could be seen to be very dynamic, morphing into "black swans," affecting ships, boats and buoys at distances as short as 5 miles.

Phenomena like this is fascinating to observe, but I don't think it helps in the discernment of the shape of the earth surface. If anything, it confuses the issue; like trying to see detail while looking through heavy-leaded glass or a poorly milled lens. Reality is better observed and analyzed when conditions are not being optically distorted.

Still, it's fun to watch.
