Testing the Intel i3-4160 dual core CPU in 9 popular and demanding games in 2023, using an RTX 3070 discrete GPU.
Dual core CPUs may be dead in 2023, but some are clearly… er, deader than others. The £1 i3-4160 is one of a plethora of locked dual-cores to have flooded the market in recent years, no doubt thanks to all of the old OEM PCs being upgraded into gaming rigs with cheap i5s, i7s and Xeons. Does this incredibly cheap price, and the range of extremely viable alternatives, mean these Haswell i3s are useless?
