Recently Wedbush Securities Michael Pachter had some choice words for Sony and the current PlayStation business. He believes Sony has lost their way with PS5, and they have no idea what they're doing. Definitely harsh, but he does raise some good points when you considering the Bungie acquisition and Sony's live service push. Should the money have been spent on expanding mobile? Should the leadership be pushed out? Did they make a mistake letting Andrew House go? Or pushing out Shawn Layden? Let's go over the current PlayStation business and try to answer that tough rhetorical question: has PlayStation lost their way? Because sometimes I lose my way. Usually in a grocery store looking for a singular item. That's the worst.

This week we saw some big news where Sony is finally addressing the shovelware issue on PSN by delisting a publishers entire catalogue of games. And that means nearly 1,200 cheap Platinum Trophy games were completely whipped from PS5 & PS4 like THAT. Insane times were living in! We also had a PS5 Pro rumor that didnt really offer up any new information, and some tea being spilled by former Activision CEO Bobby Kotick. Looks like hes calling out the Call of Duty and console sales themselves. Hmmm. Then we have various stories about studio closures, game rumors, new patches (Power Saver mode!) and then the Amazon God of War series finds their Kratos in Ryan Hurst. I genuinely cant believe they didnt consider me for the role. They got enough CGI nowadays...

We went from an amazing State of Play to one of the darkest weeks in PlayStation history, as Sony has announced the shocking closure of Bluepoint Games. Truly, a baffling decision that we need to discuss. We also had some big rumors and a leak going on for Santa Monicas next big project from Cory Barlog. Looks like we might be seeing that game soon for a 2027 launch?! Well thats something in light of the Bluepoint news. We also have another report that Sony is indeed heavily considering a delay for PS6. The RAM and Storage crisis just keeps getting worse and worse. We also have some third party news for Highguard, Starfield, Elder Scrolls VI, the MGS Vol. 2 Collection, & more. Im gonna go eat some blueberries today in Bluepoints honor. Its not quite related but its the closest I have for them for the time being.
