CRYSTAL TOWNSHIP — Joe Prado and Dave Hansen, developers of The Original Asparagus Nuggets, discuss the 2023 harvest season and their expectations to meet their marketing goals. Prado created the battered nuggets, which are frozen and can be deep fried within two minutes. Currently, the nuggets — made with local asparagus — can be purchased cooked at Hansen Foods of Hart and Big Hart Brewing Co. Their goal is to market the nuggets to other restaurants and eventually to grocery stores with the hope of providing sales for local asparagus growers.
