A mini-network simulation across 4 sites recently validated next-gen #DCB demand-capacity balancing solutions.
In the week of 16 September, #EIH the EUROCONTROL Innovation Hub led the SESAR Joint Undertaking HARMONIC joint exercise to simulate various traffic conditions, collect expert feedback and assess new procedures for more automated flow management.
Partners across Europe took part:
📌 DSNA FMPs joined EIH experts and EUROCONTROL Network Manager (NM) controllers in Brétigny,
📌 ENAV, IDS AirNav and Deep Blue were in Rome,
📌 CRIDA and ENAIRE were in Madrid, and
📌 Thales was in Toulouse.
All sites were simultaneously connected to EUROCONTROL's cloud-based INNOVE platform, enabling FMPs and NM to simulate a concerted response to challenging traffic situations recorded in summer 2024.
The joint validation approach allowed the team to trial novel operational procedures (Netspot), improve awareness and information sharing (spot management, complexity sharing) and increase automation (local and network DCB solvers).
