How I spent the 4th of July.
I'd been experimenting with turning my gas grill into a smoker, and this was the acid test. The victim: a 3 pound boneless pork butt. It was a smash success.
The rub: simple -- salt & pepper, rosemary, thyme, garlic powder, ground mustard seed, and Slap Ya Mama, coated first with EVOO.
The dressing for the spinach salad: EVOO, balsamic vinegar, honey, BACON, horseradish, thyme, dill, basil, flogged to death in the mini Ninja.
Music:
"Stars and Stripes" by John Philip Sousa. Composition is in the Public Domain
Performed by U.S. Marine Corps Band. Performance is in the Public Domain.
