After fires and floods and debris flows, work is underway to make the trail to Colorado’s iconic Hanging Lake sustainable for the next 100 years. The Hanging Lake reconstruction project was made possible through the partnerships with Great Outdoors Colorado, Colorado Parks and Wildlife State Trails Program, the National Forest Foundation, City of Glenwood Springs, H2O Ventures, and the USDA Forest Service. The reconstruction project includes replacing the bridges, adding a boardwalk at Spouting Rock, improving the trailhead and completing general rock work. Construction is expected to last through Fall 2024.
