Abalone, or Marble Push, is a rather obscure type of board game that is relatively simple to play. This board was constructed from a solid piece of Poplar (American Tulipwood). The grooves were routed into the wood with the highest degree of accuracy that I am capable of. The piece was finished by first oiling, and then with the application of dozens and dozens of shellac sessions using a muneca (3 cotton balls wrapped in a piece of cotton t-shirt). Helpful tip: get a plunge-router.
