This week’s VLOG is a short(ish) ride to Strathalbyn which is 60 kms south, south east of Adelaide. As the road between Adelaide and “Strath” is in relatively good condition, it is well within the desirable commuter zone. It has a generous number of pubs, cafes, restaurants and bakeries for food and drink, plenty of housing (market is currently very limited), and good schools.
The microphone was giving good quality vocal recording except the mini stitches holding it in place came away. The input volume turned itself up on part of the ride to 7 making the audio unusable. I have it set to 3 now which seems to give the least pop during speech. All other settings (low cut, limiter and levelling) are set to off. Really happy with this microphone, but still need to get it in a more fixed location.
The GoPro Hero 11 was also behaving itself recording the whole ride on one enduro battery, which makes me wonder if it is the old blue batteries which are causing the problems.
The Forcite helmet is showing why it’s worth its weight in gold as far as recording a POV rider view, but it would definitely benefit from GoPro style stabilisation.
