Its no secret of mine that Exitium takes a lot of inspirations from a lot of places. That is partly my motive... To inspire younger generations the way I was inspired from multiple sources. The first ever rendition of the Exitium Universe took place around Halo 2 era. It consisted primarily of characters that were "similar" to Halo Spartans. However, "Captain Galaxy" wasn't a conceptual character until around 2012.
During the previously mentioned year (after much of the writing for Exitium was lost in a computer crash,) the main continuity was heavily retconned. So too was the title of the book and many of its characters. One such character was the subject of this video "Captain Galaxy."
Captain Galaxy isn't so much a person as he is an idea. He received his nickname because of his migration from Earth to hTrae. He was one of the first military personnel to make the transition & given his rank at the time, which was a squad captain, his squad "The Royal Maces" would constantly refer to him as "Captain Galaxy."
Before the man, the myth, the legend, there was Kato Shigamato. His background in the military is extensive. He was rumored to have mastered all of the martial arts, sniped a penny from a mile away, & deflected an incoming missile using only his HUD and sheer strength. Through gossip, many of these feats were exaggerated, yet despite this Kato Shigamato was impressive enough to merit the title of Captain Galaxy as a right of passage to future generations who could possibly dawn the mantle. Kato's involvement in the Exitium Universe only delvers further into great accomplishments as he defects to a different organization adopting better tech and heavier fighting prowess. At this time, he trains many recruits in hand to hand combat & firearms. He also locks horns with a few augmented humans, usually taking the upper hand despite being at a clear disadvantage.
Captain Galaxy is a Chuck Norris joke in the flesh to comrades & the proverbial boogeyman hiding away in the closet to his enemies
