Hey everyone, let’s start off this new year right with another new Halo 3 trick! Getting to the bottom of the halo pit has been a challenge for about as long as The Cage was. Back on HIH, a guy named "Bud" was able to get down to the floaty barrier at the bottom, but was not successful in breaking that thick barrier. Multiple groups of people have tried to break that barrier since Bud's initial decent down, but the barrier stopped everyone in their tracks.
Unlike most of our Halo 3 tricks released recently, the bottom of the Halo Pit actually went through very little changes in the initial plan we crafted back in the early days of Halo 3. We knew no matter what, that we needed to be on legendary, since the only conceivable way we thought of to break the barrier was using the ghosts, since there was a small amount of materials we could use. Consequently however, we could not use Bud's method of getting to the floaty barrier and had to do a triple head jump showcased in the video. The reason for that is because after the spark battle, auto turrets become your enemy when deployed, the auto turret would kill you more often than not in the process of auto turret jumping down to the floaty barrier, and the invincibility does not spawn on legendary.
The missing puzzle piece we didn't have all those years ago was the recently found "revert grabbing" technique. Revert Grabbing is a new tool in the toolbox that can help us with many more incompleted trick in halo 3, similar to the discovery of Phasing. From what we figured out, revert grabbing can only be done playing online, and can be done in Halo 2, 3, ODST, Reach, and 4. You can revert grab weapons, equipment, vehicles, and switches. However, there is a big difference between revert grabbing vehicles and revert grabbing weapons/equipment. When you revert grab a vehicle, on the revert, you teleport to the vehicle! While revert grabbing weapons/equipment though, on the revert, the weapon/equipment teleports to you! What this means is that if we were to launch a vehicle outside a barrier, get a checkpoint while the vehicle is out of the barrier, and then launch the vehicle back to ourselves so we can enter it inside the map, when you revert and enter the vehicle at the same time, you teleport to the vehicle you were trying to enter outside the map!!! It was all a matter of doing the original plan again, and applying the new knowledge we found about revert grabbing that made this trick possible.

In 2012, former tricking group Terminal Velocity showcased a Halo: Reach video featuring the manipulation of AI. Meta Stability 2.0 paved the way for all future Halo: Reach AI maniupulations, as it pushed the boundaries in the ways people perceived the possibilities of the game. Featuring groundbreaking AI manipulations thoughtfully illustrated through soft landscapes and meditative scenes, and paired with a serene soundscape, the video captures a unique profundity and stands as one of the most monumental tricking videos of all time.
This video serves as a visual remaster of the original Meta Stability 2.0, twelve years after its debut. Keeping the original tricks and feel of the video intact, we are pleased to share with you this video in hopes to keep the legacy of Terminal Velocity and the Meta Stability series alive.

I was first introduced to tricking Halo in 2013. I was 14 years old at the time, and I happened to stumble across Meta Stability 2.0 shortly after being involved in the tricking forums on Jumprs and Alt-Gaming. For me, it was the greatest Halo video I had ever set my eyes on. I was completely captivated by the unique and seemingly infinite possibilities of the game outside of map boundaries and norms of the game. It was also the first time I had ever heard music like that. The video became a huge catalyst and component of how I tricked Halo, and to this day, any AI manipulation that I do within the game carries inspiration and has its roots in Meta Stability 2.0. Reiko is very humble and nonchalant about the video, and often dismisses it as being an ordinary video. I believe it to be the greatest tricking video of all time. In 2012, nobody was making videos of such production quality, and each video he made brought a special touch and a depth that I still cant put my finger on to this day.
It has been a huge privilege to work on the remaster of Meta Stability 2.0. For a long time I was very apprehensive of making it, and still feel some of that apprehension still after its completion. Most importantly, I wanted to be respectful to the original video. Meta Stability 2.0 Remastered is far from a remaster. In my eyes it is just a 4k 60fps version of the original Meta Stability 2.0, The video may be updated in its visuals, yet I still feel it pales in comparison to the original. I simply make this humble offering of a video to my good friend and inspiration, for all the years you have taught me and been patient with me.
