Monstruos 2: The Nightmares of Latin America is one of the haunted houses featured during Halloween Horror Nights 2024 at Universal Studios Hollywood. It is located in the Parisian Courtyard.
History and Location
Universal Studios Hollywood announced Monstruos 2: The Nightmares of Latin America as one of the original haunted houses for that year’s event. It was a sequel to the previous year’s Monstruos: The Monsters of Latin America, showcasing some of Latin America’s most infamous mythical creatures. This year’s version featured even more terrifying figures from Latin American folklore.
The haunted house was located in the Parisian Courtyard, and the codename "Churro" was used during its development.
Description
In Monstruos 2: The Nightmares of Latin America, El Muerte returns as your guide, leading you through a graveyard haunted by mythological monsters. Some creatures include the soul-stealing rider, El Charro; the doglike spirit, El Cadejo, who stalks the roads at night in search of victims; and the child-snatching bogeyman, El Cucuy.
Settings - Cemetery of The Lost
Queue and Facade
The haunted house's facade is the Cemetery of the Lost Mausoleum, with a tree draped in dolls as a chilling entrance.
Guests begin their journey by passing a portrait of El Charro Negro, entering a bar scene where a body slumps over a table. They are then startled by Charro Negro’s horse and the rider himself before continuing into the next room, a cramped space filled with shelves.
