This tutorial will show you how to do the half double crochet decrease by demonstrating this technique using the left hand. This technique is used when you want to shorten or shape your project by removing stitches. It is also possible to use other stitches as well when decreasing, but this video shows this by only using the half double crochet.

Also the half double crochet 2 stitches together is another term used instead of using the term decrease. This is abbreviated hdc2tog.
