On the Celtic/Pagan seasonal calendar, the 1st and 2nd of February marks the beginning of the lambing season and therefore the start of spring. In pagan society festivals are held to celebrate this time....This is my song to celebrate spring and Mother nature's beauty.
LYRICS
Hail the Green Man, his time again is here
he will cushion a ferny path, for all he holds dear
He'll beckon the sun's rays,
And caress the sleepy trees
Lavish buds with blossom
For the busy honey bees..
He will help the butterflies, choose the pretty wings they wear
And he'll watch them so proudly
Shimmer in the air
Cometh the Green Man!
King of all he brings
He will wake up tired nature
While Eostera sings
And he'll dance with the March hares
To a rainbows end
And his pallet of colours, will unfold..
To paint the Spring.
He will cast his eye on the chilly frost
And banish her away
He will play his flute so hauntingly
That dragonflies will sway
And when his work is over, he will rest for some time
He will sit by the Rowan tree..and drink sweet meadow wine
