Daniel N | Gyoubu Oniwa flawless fight - base stats - hard mode, no blocking or deflecting @danieln6613 | Uploaded 5 years ago | Updated 2 hours ago
Main trick to this fight is to stay just close enough to him when he runs around to not get hit by his spear attacks and be able to run up to him when he starts swinging that thing off a rope, that way you don't have to worry about this attack and can cram in about 4-5 hits before he runs away, which will make staggering him way faster next time you get close. The fight has a pretty simple pattern without blocking and deflecting, definitely an enjoyable one though.
Full list of restrictions for this run:
- flawless (can't take any damage during the fight)
- base stats (vitality and attack power can't be leveled up, vitality stays at 10 and AP at 1)
- hard mode (combination of no kuro's charm and carrying bell demon - first one gives enemies boost in attack and defense on top of dealing chip damage to Sekiro if you're simply blocking instead of perfect deflecting, the second one further buffs enemy attack and health. In the first Genichiro fight I only have no kuro's charm, as demon bell can't be accessed until you finish tutorial)
- no blocking or deflecting (prohibits use of blocking and deflecting, which are main means of defense in close combat. The point is to tackle bosses in a way that differs significantly from the intended gameplay style and to make those fights feel refreshing again.
- no skills (no active skills can be used, this restriction prohibits use of all combat arts and useful latent skills like grapple into spin attack or Mikiri Counter)
- no tools (can't use any prosthetic tools, only the katana (Kusabimaru) and it's basic attacks are allowed)
- no items (can't use any consumable items, especially those that buff your attack power, like divine confetti or the sugars
