On 25 November 2022 we became a White Ribbon UK organisation, committed to preventing violence against women and girls and commencing a three year partnership with the charity. In the year since, more than 90 Great Western Railway colleagues have become White Ribbon Ambassadors. They have dedicated their time to provide support and education to those affected or those who wish to help, whether it’s on board, at our stations and depots, or in our offices. We work closely with other organisations to help make the railway and the communities we serve safe for everyone. From being part of the launch of Rail to Refuge with Women’s Aid UK - which helps those escaping domestic violence travel to a place of safety - to promoting British Transport Police’s Guardian App, we work hard to help people feel safer. We are also signed up to ‘Safe Spaces Online’ an online portal with details of support services, helplines and information.
The Safe Spaces logo can be found at the foot of every page on Great Western Railway’s website. Users can quickly exit the site by pressing ‘escape’, leaving no sign of their browsing history. For more information, follow these uselful links:
