Harry Woods (1896 - 1970), the songwriter, was born in North Chelmsford, Massachusetts. He was a composer of many popular songs from the 1920s and 1930s including many for Hollywood musicals. Some of his best known are "Paddlin' Madelin Home", "I'm Looking Over a Four Leaf Clover", "River, Stay 'Way From My Door", "When the Red Red Robin Comes Bob-Bob-Bobbin' Along", "Side By Side", "When The Moon Comes Over the Mountain", "We Just Couldn't Say Good-Bye", and "Try A Little Tenderness". He wrote music and lyrics with many collaborators including Mort Dixon, Arthur Freed, Howard Johnson, Rube Bloom and Gus Kahn. He was educated at Harvard and played piano and was a vocalist while there and served in the Military during World War I.

In looking over my previous postings I discovered I now have nine that are credited to Harry Woods as lyricist, composer or both. I have made a playlist of these songs. youtube.com/playlist?list=PL561D2316A87D1B87
