Reinald Werrenrath (1883-1953) made his concert debut in an oratorio performance of "Die Meistersinger" at the Worcester Festival of 1907. Although he performed at the Metropolitan Opera for one season (1919-1920), sharing the stage with Enrico Caruso, he preferred concert and radio performances, and was carried live on NBC. He was associated with American patriotic songs of World War I, including "Lafayette (We Hear You Calling)". His last public performance was at Carnegie Hall in 1952. He devoted his later years to teaching, and opened a music school.

David Ivor Davies (1893 – 1951), better known as Ivor Novello, was a Welsh composer, singer, playwright, actor and director who became one of the most popular British entertainers of the first half of the 20th century.
