00:15: Fragrance Overview
Drakkar Noir was released in 1982. The nose behind the fragrance is Pierre Wargnye who is probably best known today for Diesel Only The Brave as well as Yves Saint Laurent L’Homme and La Nuit de l’Homme.
01:25: Composition
Drakkar Noir opens with a complex head of peppermint, basil, lavender, and bergamot. The heart follows shortly afterwards to reveal coriander, cinnamon spice, juniper leaf, and absinthe. The latter is produced by an accord of artemisia and wormwood that combines with its generally boozy profile.
Finally, the base delivers fresh fir, earth patchouli, moist oakmoss, and cedarwood to produce a resinous finish following the balsamic heart.
03:28: Wake & Strength
As far Drakkar Noir's wake and strength, it offers a reasonable sillage and trail behind the wearer. However, this might be a bit limited for what is regarded as an old-school scent. Meanwhile, the projection is surprisingly focused and doesn't provide a scent bubble quite as developed as you may expect.
Finally, its longevity should provide four to five hours of decent performance.

Overall, a lot of people found Drakkar Noir to be somewhat dated compared to other classic colognes that are still produced today. While other fragrances have managed to remain relevant with a cult following, Drakkar Noir has a distinctive character that is reminiscent of its era.
However, some people still found it to be quite pleasant with a smooth, leathery profile.

We would recommend that Drakkar Noir is a fragrance for men in their late 30s or up to their late 40s. Younger men would be better suited to something more youthful. Meanwhile, older men would likely benefit more from a more mature fragrance.
Similarly, Drakkar Noir could be worn as an authoritative fragrance for the office. Similarly, it's ideally worn in the evening or at night.
Finally, Drakkar Noir is quite masculine but perhaps not as verile as other classics that have aged better.

Although the bottle has a stylish matte black design, it does look like something from its period. Similarly, the plastic cap feels somewhat cheap as if it belongs on a deodorant bottle. However, the packaging is quite attractive with a distinctive stripe across the front.
Additionally, the atomizer has a tendency to water gun if pressed gently and needs a decisive push when applying.
