The Gum Wall aka The Market Theater Gum Wall is located in Post Alley under Pike Place Market of Seattle. The brick walls in the alley is covered in used chewing gum, a practice that begun in 1993.

It's one of the most germ infected tourist spots in the world.

A theater company, Unexpected Productions, began leasing the building 1991. Soon after, a patron waiting in the ticket line to see comedy shows, stuck a piece of chewed gum to the wall, topping it with a penny. And the behaviour was followed by others. By the end of 1995, the wall was covered with coin-topped chewed gum offering. One day, someone in need of money took all the coins, but left the gum.
The gum was removed in benefit to save the bricks, but the brick was soon covered with gums again.

The Gum Wall is featured in the film Love Happens with Aaron Eckhart and Jennifer Aniston.
