Guillow Piper Cub RC Conversion Step by Step
The Guillow Piper Cub is a popular stick and tissue balsa airplane kit that makes for an interesting conversion to radio control flight. In this video I will show you step by step how to make this conversion to RC of the Guillows balsa wood plane, with a focus on how to easily install the ultra-micro ParkZone RC equipment.
A video on where to buy the ParkZone RC unit is here:

The Guillows model airplanes follow a similar build process with the wing, fuselage and tail surfaces. I use light weight 1/16" balsa for the tail surfaces, and try to keep the final weight to around 2.5 ounces.
I also used ParkLite iron-on covering for the Guillows model airplane conversion. The covering goes on well, is light weight and looks good.
This is a link to a follow-on video for the Cub with some modifications for better flight:

This is my 8th Guillow conversion to RC flight, good luck with yours!
