A really thin Hollow.
The History of FRANZ Pick-Ups. Franz was a company back in the 50's from the little bit of info I can find. People loved them or hated them. Apparently QC was an issue & it was a hit or miss deal. Someone in recent years bought the rights to the name. They located some of the "Loved" PUPS & reconstructed them. Now they are all good! I love em!

The other thing I forgot to say is this guitar has the most even tone from the bass to treble strings of just about any of them. While Sweetwater labels them "hollow," Guild's website has them under their "Semi's." Please add, "For its size" after each time i say how great it sounds. It does fight well above its weight class but a 3 inch deep full hollow is in fact much deeper & richer sounding. Still,,,,,
