This is a spur of the moment collab with Alicia (youtube.com/user/xSnowflakes1515) The song was so soft and nice, and I had just finished watching Banana Fish and I thought it would match well with this song that Alicia linked me and one thing led to another and voila, this collab was born. I'm glad she let me do this with her. It was a lot of fun, I love the end result, and it came together so quickly!
I wanted to show the growth of Ash from someone who was always alone and isolated, to when he found someone who made him happy and his journey to be able to open up and accept love. Alicia on the other hand, used Yuri on Ice to show the personal growth of Yuri and how Victor was able to help him build his confidence to accomplish things he never thought possible. I like the varying idea of having someone else help one find oneself. In whatever way that may be.
This is also our first real 'romance' video...though of course I had to end my portions bittersweet. Can't have a video without that right? Regardless, I like that our first romance genre collab was for 'non-traditional' couples. It was so nice portraying them as normal and natural relationships where it isn't overly sexualized and instead shown as people who simply love one another and care deeply. Equal treatment and all that. I think we did a good job of making something delicate, soft, and gentle.
