After acquiring Pollo Power, you can escape El Diablo's dialog prematurely. Consistent setup:
1. Get Pollo Power
2. While human, jump onto El Diablo's ledge (being human here requires SDG wrong warps)
3. Change into pollo form
4. Change into human form and immediately roll into El Diablo

This allows you to get Pollo Power and exit the Desert while your objective is still set to "Pursue Flame Face Into the Desert". Retaining that objective opens some new routing opportunities.
