Alongside price announcements for Grand Theft Auto 6, it was revealed that physical copies of the game would only include a download code inside the case, with no disc provided at launch.

Thanks to The Hollywood Reporter, we’ve been given an insight into the physical media debacle for Grand Theft Auto 6, and it seems like it’s a sorry conclusion.
The confusion stems from an email response to fans inquiring about a GTA 6 disc, which stated that “you will be able to acquire a physical copy during the following months.” That, alongside a report by ppe.pl, gave fans hope that a disc version of the game could arrive shortly after launch, but it seems like that’s far from the truth. My GTA 6 predictions:
• GTA 6 launches on November 19 and everyone rushes to download it, causing the servers to crash
Yeah, I still think the servers will crash despite the preload. Not everyone is going to have the game preloaded, and I’m pretty sure there’ll still be a day-one patch or something like that you’ll have to download on release
• A Collector's Edition will also be released later on, featuring goodies, a Steelbook and exclusive unlocks but no copy of the game The Hollywood Reporter, citing a source, says

has NO PLANS of a physical disc launch of GTA 6 anytime soon "and not months after".
This comes after a debunked "insider" made viral claims of a disc launch being delayed, with next to zero game outlets actually looking into the lackluster source...
Same goes for a viral conversation someone had with Rockstar support, that clearly had their comments misinterpreted as all they confirmed was a "physical copy" happening which is in fact just the code-in-a-box version we're getting in November.
