MycoGravity is an experimental installation where pink oyster mushrooms grow inside a custom bioreactor mounted on a KUKA robotic arm, simulating altered gravity through programmed motion inspired by NASA’s random positioning machines. The project explores how fungi respond to environments without a stable gravitational direction, using sensors and cameras to monitor growth and environmental conditions in real time. As sculptural mushrooms emerge, shaped by their shifting orientation, the floating bioreactor becomes a living artwork. MycoGravity invites reflection on how terrestrial life adapts to unfamiliar conditions and how gravity subtly influences biological form and behavior.
