University of Chicago PhD composer Alison Yun-Fei Jiang spent her childhood in Canada, and it is the sites and sounds of the winter of her youth that provide the inspiration for her new piece, "Winter Music".

The Grossman Ensemble, the resident ensemble of the Chicago Center for Contemporary Composition, premieres Jiang's "Winter Music" Friday, December 6 at 7:30 pm in the Reva and David Logan Center for the Arts. Tickets are $15, free with valid student id.
