It’s a bear-y good day to be a bear – it’s #HappyBearsDay! 🐻
Here at the zoo, we’re lucky to be home to black bears, grizzly bears, and polar bears. To celebrate this special day, we’re giving you a behind-the-scenes look at our grizzly bear cub ‘Turner’ as he plays with water in his back-of-house space! 🚿
Whether their dedicated Animal Care, Health & Welfare team is filling pools for them to splash around in or giving them a cooling spray on a hot day, exploring running water like this gives our curious cubs an opportunity to engage their senses. From staying hydrated to trying to cup water between his claws, our grizzly cub Turner is building his coordination and problem-solving skills, exploring his environment in meaningful ways. 💧
