Build a Gen 3 Glock® 19 clone from the frame up with Caleb from Brownells. In this Brownells Tech Tip, we use a Grit Grips Glock® 19 Gen 3 compatible frame and walk through the major components of the build, including the lower parts, locking block, Brownells Premium Glock® 19 slide, sights, red dot optic, barrel, recoil assembly, weapon light, and final function checks.
The Grit Grips frame uses Gen 3 Glock® compatible components with one notable exception: the reversible Gen 4-style magazine catch. Caleb also takes a closer look at the frame's grip texture, palm swell, undercut, thumb ledge, and other ergonomic features.
The finished build uses a Brownells Premium optic-cut slide, Brownells barrel, AmeriGlo sights, Viridian red dot, SureFire X300U, and Magpul Glock® 19 magazine. We also take a look at an Advantage Arms .22 LR conversion slide as an option for training and recreational shooting.
Always follow the component manufacturer's instructions and applicable safety procedures when assembling, maintaining, or modifying a firearm.
