Steve and Caleb are back at the range with the Henry SPD HUSH, a lightweight lever-action rifle optimized for suppressor use. This particular rifle is chambered in .44 Magnum and equipped with a BSF carbon fiber-wrapped barrel, threaded muzzle, Dead Air Primal suppressor, and red dot optic.
We put the Henry SPD HUSH through a practical range test, starting with a three-shot group at 100 yards using Magtech 240-grain .44 Magnum FMJ ammunition. Then Caleb stretches the rifle out on steel at 100 and 200 yards to see what the lightweight lever gun can do with a red dot.
To finish the test, we compare 240-grain .44 Magnum FMJ ammunition against a Hornady 240-grain XTP jacketed hollow point in Clear Ballistics gel at 50 yards. The difference between the FMJ and expanding XTP makes for an interesting comparison, especially for hunters considering a suppressed .44 Magnum lever-action rifle.
