A special greeting for the Triton community from NASA astronaut Megan McArthur. The UC San Diego alumna is serving as pilot of NASA's SpaceX Crew-2 mission, which launched to space on April 23, 2021. McArthur holds a PhD from Scripps Institution of Oceanography, where her research focused on nearshore ocean acoustics. During her time as a graduate student, McArthur was trained as a sea-going scientist and served as a volunteer diver at Birch Aquarium at Scripps. As part of the Crew-2 mission, she will spend six months at the International Space Station conducting a range of science experiments.
