Our live cover of "Green Greens" from Kirby's Dream Land, originally composed by Jun Ishikawa. This arrangement by Patrick Bartley.

Poyo! Our first Kirby video is here! And what a song to go first, huh? It can be said that for a lot of people growing up, this song is most associated with the Super Smash Bros. franchise, but for others who got to play the original game, they remember it for being the first level in Kirby's Dream Land. And WOW this song is gorgeous. Ishikawa's work on this series is so unique, really. I took from 3 different arrangements to make this one, actually - the aforementioned original game, Smash Melee, and another more recent Kirby game, Kirby's Epic Yarn. I was initially trying to find a solid, consistent arrangement of this to use, but then I realized that not only did they sound so different, but the form is slightly different on every version of this song, as well. SO, enter our "hybrid" of an arrangement, here. This is definitely our most ambitious acoustic session yet!

BUT... of COURSE, we can't just make a J-MUSIC acoustic arrangement without throwing in some original material! We hope you can enjoy the liberties and surprises we took on this one, as we go through many moods, grooves, dynamics, orchestration, as much as we could fit in here with what we have. This is our first tribute to the world of Kirby, but ALSO an homage to the Smash Bros. series, which has affected all of our lives so much since childhood. Hopefully our favorite pro Smashers on the scene will see this video, as well!
