This is my favorite musical hands down. The story is terrifying, the music is deliciously devious, and every bit of the piece tells a rich and haunting story.

This song, Green Finch and Linnet Bird, paints a picture of a young woman stuck in a cage. As a result of her confinement, she empathizes with the birds outside that flit about her window and her lark companion locked away in the same room as her.
