how to train your dragon came out 10 years ago today! what better way to celebrate than to make a video at 1:00 AM the day of and hope for the best?
i tried to edit this song with httyd in 2016, focusing largely on gift of the night fury, but it just never felt right or turned out very well. i have a preview i uploaded in 2017 that i'll link here if you guys wanna see my first attempt. the "run" part of this is still pretty similar. but the hook into the chorus works a lot better with hidden world.
it took me all week to find a song i wanted to use, and then i just said "screw it" and dragged this old project back to life. i'm sorry it's so short, but this was all i had time and inspiration for right now.

Sometimes you have to edit a very small portion of a song out of context because you need some pain in your diet.
I miss these two so much, and I want more of them but am simultaneously dreading all the MCU Spider-Man 3 rumors. The dichotomy of emotions is so strong. I don’t know how to feel.
Also shes dead, so how well can it possibly go?
So remember when I made this video (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=47PWLypZT_I) and said I’d edit each Spider-Man couple to a song from folklore? And like a fool, I thought I could pace myself and that I’d have time before a more relevant album came out.
Hahah.
I was stuck on my video for them anyway (I was gonna use exile because of course I was), so I guess this works. I didn’t get any of the actual duet parts in, and I chopped out that hopeful ending. Even though, ultimately, maybe they could have one in the future?? I’m confused, but I’m gonna stick with no hope. It’s safer that way.
I made this really fast to procrastinate on all the things I have to do. Hope you enjoy it maybe if thats possible.

…I’m doing a challenge this week, and you’re all welcome to join me if you’d like.
I’ve been editing older songs with Marvel, which has been fun as hell, but I wanted to challenge myself to see if I could use more recent songs. So, this week I’m putting my “Today’s Hits” radio on in Pandora and editing mini videos to the first song that plays (barring repeats).
I should have known better.
Anyway, I’m only going to edit a video as long as I have time for that day. This took me like 30-40 minutes with heavy emphasis on the first half and then copy-pasting effects in the second half. If I only have like 5-10 minutes to spare to edit, I’ll do like a vine edit or something idk. Or a loop edit and just copy-paste stuff. Or nothing. If I don’t have time at all one day, I’ll do nothing lol.
If you’d like to join me in this endeavor, feel free to use any radio station/shuffle playlist, and any fandom! Just edit whatever you have time for that day. You don’t have to post each video separately. You don’t even have to post each video at all. It’s just a fun way to experiment and maybe edit with things you hadn’t thought of or don’t have a “big idea” for.

SPOILERS! and i mean it. i crammed all of them in here; please forgive me.
i finally watched it todayyyyy. not my best edit, but i just wanted to crank it out. all the apologies for all of the less-than-perfection in here.
i thought id come out of it wanting to edit a girl power edit or even a shippy edit, but this movie is bountiful in platonic relationships and found families, which are some of my biggest weaknesses. so here i am. editing the type of content i always edit. hope thats good with you all. :)
i honestly really enjoyed this movie; it was very character-focused, and the visuals are really beautiful, too. i liked it a lot better than most of what disneys been putting out lately, so i recommend it if you get a chance to see it. if youre reading this, and you havent seen it, i sure hope youve paused the video and arent watching it lol.
i just love people bonding over grief and becoming a family. an A+ trope. give it to me always.

Two and a half years after our first collab, which I still consider to be the peak of my editing career on youtube, Scurvied and I have finally finished another one! Took long enough. Not for lack of trying…I think we started at least three other ones in the middle there and just never finished, heh.
Also not the fandom I thought we’d end up at years later, but I am not upset about it at all. ;)
BECAUSE IT LOOKS AWESOME and the classic POTC movies are amazing. When I saw the fifth one, I was super disappointed and just yearning for the magic of these first three, all of which I think are great. And somehow Ash and I both got nostalgic about them, and she rewatched them, and we just…did the thing!
