SPOILERS! and i mean it. i crammed all of them in here; please forgive me.
i finally watched it todayyyyy. not my best edit, but i just wanted to crank it out. all the apologies for all of the less-than-perfection in here.
i thought id come out of it wanting to edit a girl power edit or even a shippy edit, but this movie is bountiful in platonic relationships and found families, which are some of my biggest weaknesses. so here i am. editing the type of content i always edit. hope thats good with you all. :)
i honestly really enjoyed this movie; it was very character-focused, and the visuals are really beautiful, too. i liked it a lot better than most of what disneys been putting out lately, so i recommend it if you get a chance to see it. if youre reading this, and you havent seen it, i sure hope youve paused the video and arent watching it lol.
i just love people bonding over grief and becoming a family. an A+ trope. give it to me always.

Two and a half years after our first collab, which I still consider to be the peak of my editing career on youtube, Scurvied and I have finally finished another one! Took long enough. Not for lack of trying…I think we started at least three other ones in the middle there and just never finished, heh.
Also not the fandom I thought we’d end up at years later, but I am not upset about it at all. ;)
BECAUSE IT LOOKS AWESOME and the classic POTC movies are amazing. When I saw the fifth one, I was super disappointed and just yearning for the magic of these first three, all of which I think are great. And somehow Ash and I both got nostalgic about them, and she rewatched them, and we just…did the thing!

this video has a long-winded explanation for why its so disjointed and stuff, so buckle UP.
i started this video in may? it was in response to Alexandra/Breath of Life (https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC8Hkoi0Ju2RTuiC4CSGSHIg) telling me to make the stony i wanted to see in the world. so i found this song and i was like nice, good, angsty. i shall do it.
i have been STRUGGLE BUS plugging away at this for two months, which isnt a thing i normally do. usually, i complete edits within a week (and if i dont, i never finish them). BUT I HAD TO DO SOMETHING FOR THE STONY FAM IVE ABANDONED FOR LIKE A YEAR. AUGH. so i kept coming back and slowly placing like one scene at a time, which made for difficult transitioning and such.
SO FINALLY, the other day, i was like, ya know what? im gonna finish that video today. and then, just as i was almost finished placing clips, my laptop died. it just. died.
so.
i got my new laptop today thanks to some absolute SAINTS of friends to whom i owe my LIFE. and it took me all day to even open this project because the audio got corrupted and the file itself got corrupted, so ive been troubleshooting and restoring all day. so when i finally got it ready to put effects on, i was just done.
so i blame... all of that for what this looks like. im sorry because these dumb idiot husbands deserve BETTER.
i cant even tell you what render settings i used for this. i didnt pay any attention i just wanted it OUT.
