South Metro Fire Rescue EMS Captain Angie Thomasson grew up in Meeker. A tight-knit, resilient community with big hearts and helping hands. It's a place that shaped her, and it's a place that's recently been tested by multiple wildfires.
As flames threatened the land and people she holds dear, including her parents and their property, Angie watched with deep gratitude. Many firefighters, including dedicated Wildland team members from SMFR, have worked tirelessly to protect homes, families, and livelihoods.
Today, Angie shares a heartfelt thank you to every firefighter who’s answered the call. Your courage and commitment mean everything, not just to her, but to the entire Meeker community.
