Here we are again finally 3 months later. Took another 2 updates to get enough new cars and new engine swap combos to get another 20 car lineup but it's finally time. Back in June the banger 1.70 update dropped which added 4 up to date Le Mans hypercars alongside the Porsche 911 Turbo S Safety Car. The 2023 Ferrari 499P that dominated Le Mans for 3 straight years between 2023-2025 before finally being dethroned in this year's race, 2025 BMW M Hybrid V8, the 2025 Peugeot 9X8 that just a few years prior famously ran without a rear wing, and the 2024 Porsche 963. All 5 of those cars are featured here along with 1 car that received an engine swap that update, and there's 3 more that will be in the next race. Then yesterday the new, slightly controversial, 1.71 update dropped adding 4 more cars, 3 of which are featured here. The 2008 Caterham Seven Superlight R500, 2025 Hyundai IONIQ 6 N, and the 1997 Toyota Chaser Tourer V. 7 more cars with new engine swaps in this update are featured here, including the New Toyota Chaser. The Caterham also has one available, but I decided not to install it as it makes the car drastically less powerful. Strangely the Red Bull X2014 Junior was also given one, making it close to 4x as powerful now. There's another car with an engine swap that will be featured in the next race also.
The cars & other content in this update aren't controversial, but the insane amount of physics changes documented in this update is, as it's getting mixed reviews. I for one am not a fan of it as it's led to me having to once again start going over & updating all of my top speed setups for every car in my garage once again, all 467 of them now. I had to do this a few years ago also and it was very infuriating. So far I've only done the 20 you see in this video, so I have a long road ahead to me to getting all caught up with this crap again. As a result of the physics changes, the range of adjustability for some of the car settings sliders has also changed. Most notably with the LSD where the range was originally between 5-60 for all 3 sliders, now it's 0-30 for initial torque and 0-100 for the other two. The range of adjustability for spring rate & downforce settings on numerous cars have been tweaked as well as the damping ratios for both compression & expansion, it's all a lot to take in.
I also bought the 2021 Mazda CX-30 X Smart Edition and the 2020 Mercedes-Benz AMG group 3 car. I also changed the livery on the 2022 Porsche 911 GT3 R group 3 car. Even before the new physics changes I noticed the 2011 Ford F-150 SVT Raptor had become a lot faster for some reason, actually even faster now as a result of the new physics so that was featured again here. Lastly the 2016 Audi R18 Le Mans hypercar has had a livery change as well, as I previously had the Ferrari 499P livery on it prior to it's addition, and that complete's the 20 car lineup for episode 55 of our half-hour speed wars. The plan was to have time progression on x30 and start the race at sunrise and have the race hopefully end at sundown or after. But I forgot to change it before the race, so it was left on x1 and ended up just being a slow 30 minute sunrise, whoops.
