Contemporary logicians have deeply problematised classical logic notions such as Aristotle's law of non-contradiction, especially in light of the Kantian antinomies and the myriad paradoxes that were discovered in foundational fields like mathematics and physics in the 20th century. Prof Graham Priest has put forward dialetheism and paraconsistent logic to deal with such contradictions. And yet, Prof Todd McGowan contends for the Hegelian position that contradiction is insurmountable as it is ontological.
