Hi everyone!
I’m excited to share with you "Skirting" by the amazing British minimalist/post-minimalist composer, pianist and conductor, Graham Fitkin. I’ve been a huge fan of Fitkin’s music for many years and I listen to his music all the time, so when I heard that Fitkin had a piece for guitar, I was absolutely ecstatic and worked on it straight away.
Skirting was commissioned by the International Guitar Festival (UK) for 2001 and premiered by Tom Kerstens at the Michael Tippett Center on 21 July. I was very fortunate to learn this piece and perform it in various concerts across the UK,as part of the International Guitar Foundation Young Artist Platform back in 2016. This recording was taken from a Showcase Concert in the Menuhin Hall at The Yehudi Menuhin School, on the 11th of November 2016.
