Sheriff Luna will be joined by the Chiefs from participating agencies in the swearing in of 52 graduates from Academy Class #473. There will be 7 female and 45 male graduates.
Academy Class #473 is a largely international collection of backgrounds, reflective of the vast array of cultures found within Los Angeles County. Of the (52) graduating recruits, (35) recruits speak a language other than English, including Farsi, Hindi, Punjabi, Twi, Spanish.
These graduates bring with them a large source of higher education (19), service experience in the armed forces (9), backgrounds in law enforcement (6), and many come from families with a tradition of serving in law enforcement (14).
