President John F Kennedy in 1962, proclaimed May 15th as #NationalPeaceOfficersMemorialDay. Today, we pay tribute and honor all peace officers across our nation who have made the ultimate sacrifice or have been injured in the line of duty, while serving and protecting their communities.
In observance of Peace Officers Memorial Day, the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department pays recognition to those deputies and officers we lost and thank them for their selfless act of courage.
As a Department, we express our gratitude to to the surviving families for their sacrifices and hold them close as they continue to face the hardships of losing their loved one.
