With Gradius: Origins doing it's thing in bring the Gradius series back into the minds of players on modern platforms, I couldn't help but have a little Vic Viper shaped itch of my own to scratch.

Which is where Gradius Advance (aka Gradius Gaiden in the US/Canada, or Gradius Generation in Japan) for the Game Boy Advance comes into play. Not only is it a solid take on the series, but it also has a few features which make it special for those wanting to get better at blasting Bacterions.
