7월 국세수입 51조원… 중권거래세, 소득세 증가 영향
South Korea collected 51 trillion won or some 37 billion U.S. dollars in national taxes in July up 8-point-4 trillion won from a year earlier.
The increase was driven by higher income tax receipts and a surge in securities transaction taxes as stock trading picked up.
Accordingly tax revenue from January through July totaled 2-hundred-74-trillion won or around 2-hundred billion U.S. dollars.
Pundits believe the stronger tax intake could give the government more room to finance its spending plans as it allocates next year’s record budget.

Rain is coming down across parts of the Chungcheong-do provinces and areas farther south, while showers are passing through parts of the capital area and Gangwon-do Province.
Heavy rain advisories are in effect for Pyeongtaek, Gyeonggi-do Province and parts of the southern regions.
As we head into the weekend, those rain clouds will spread across the country.
For Saturday, Chungcheongnam-do and Jeollabuk-do provinces could see up to 80 millimeters of rain, while Seoul and other parts of the country could see up to 40 to 60 millimeters.
And by Sunday morning, the rain will taper off across the central parts of the country, but many areas in the southern regions will still see rain through the day.
Tomorrow, even with the rain, some areas could still have tropical nights or tropical-night-like temperatures.
Seoul will start the day at 24 degrees Celsius and Busan 26.
Then by the afternoon, Seoul will get up to 30, Daegu 31, and Gwangju 32.
As the rain moves in, heat wave alerts should gradually be lifted or scaled back.
